Adventures in building a Gnome development environment via jhbuild

Gnome Jhbuild fail.

Build gone bad..

It is Friday night, and I thought I would have some fun and build myself the Gnome development platform. I am on my first module and it is failing!

_GL_WARN_ON_USE (gets, "gets is a security hole - use fgets instead");
./gettext-tools/gnulib-lib/stdio.in.h
_GL_WARN_ON_USE (gets, "gets is a security hole - use fgets instead");
./gettext-runtime/gnulib-lib/stdio.in.h
_GL_WARN_ON_USE (gets, "gets is a security hole - use fgets instead");

So I went into the offending files and deleted those lines. I am sure that is not the correct procedure, but I am learning here :), I will gladly take advice and help through my journey.
Anyway, it compiled fine after that.

Next error came with libtool-2.4.2
It was a really quick error stating Error “make: *** No rule to make target `install’. Stop.
so I chose the option to go to shell and did ./configure then make the make install (had to do as sudo) and everything worked fine. That was just the beginning set to start the build environment. I will post any further adventures as they come up, or don’t, at the very least I will post a screenie of my bleeding edge desktop!
